‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ maintained the top spot at the weekend box office for five weeks in a row, beating out newly released Korean films and works by Hollywood masters.
On the 17th, according to the integrated computer network of movie theater tickets by the Film Promotion Committee, ‘Spider-Man’ took the first place with over 171,000 audiences (24.8% of sales share) for three days (14th to 16th) last weekend.
‘Spider-Man’, which was released on the 15th of last month and broke the box office record since the Corona 19 pandemic, recorded a cumulative audience of 6897,000 until the previous day.
The action movie ‘Special Song’, starring So-dam Park, ranked second with 160,000 (22.1%).
‘Special Song’, which was released on the 12th, topped the daily box office for three days, but fell behind in the number of audiences on Saturdays and Sundays and gave up the top spot to ‘Spider-Man’. The cumulative audience is 233,000.
The musical animation ‘Thing 2 Gather’ (134,000 people, 17.8%) and ‘Blood of the Policeman’ (90,000 people, 13%), which were released on the 5th, kept third and fourth places. The cumulative audience is 499,000 and 557,000, respectively.
Director Steven Spielberg’s first musical film ‘West Side Story’ and Ridley Scott’s ‘House of Gucci’, which was released along with ‘Special Song’, ranked 5th and 6th side by side.
‘West Side Story’ drew 42,000 people (6.4%) and ‘House of Gucci’ drew 41,000 people (6%).
The number of people who visited the theater last weekend was estimated at 711,000.
Theater audiences peaked at 1832,000 in the third week of last month (December 17-19), the first weekend of the release of ‘Spider-Man’, and then dropped to 1.768,000. It is declining to 11,000 people.
