Black Clover Anime ends March 30th with episode 170

Just when we thought the Spade Kingdom arc was gaining momentum with a series of intense battles, the Black Clover franchise shocked us with the announcement that the anime would soon end.

The Spade Kingdom arc is also the latest arc from Yuki Tabata’s original manga series, and despite all those filler episodes, the anime is finally catching up with the manga. Will this be the end of our favorite anime? Or is this just a well-deserved break for the franchise?

On Tuesday, the official website for Black Clover Anime announced that the anime would end on March 30th with its 170th episode. It is also reported that the final episode will have another major announcement.

It has been announced that Black Clover will finish his current anime run on episode 170. The episode will air in Japan on March 30th, and will be followed by a special follow-up & “big announcement”.

The good news is that the manga is still pending and the latest chapters point to a second phase of the battles against the Spade Empire. But surprisingly, there is one place that can serve as a good ending to the anime.

So it will be interesting to see if the anime takes that route. All of our hope rests on the “important announcement” due to be released on March 30th.

It’s no secret that Naruto was a huge influence on Black Clover. From a childhood friend as a rival to a devil residing in the protagonist, there are some similarities.

This leaves us wondering if we are on our way to a ‘Naruto Shippuden’ for Black Clover. We may get a second series that will continue where the first anime ended.

For now, fans are focused on episode 163, which will show us the epic battle between Yami and Dante, and we can only hope nothing happens to our favorite Magic Knight captain.

Black Clover is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yūki Tabata. It has been published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine since February 16, 2015.

The story centers on Asta, a boy who was born seemingly without magical power, something unknown in the world he lives in. With his fellow Black Bulls magicians, Asta plans to become the next wizarding king.
