Shueisha announced on the 15th that it will release the 18th volume on October 25th, which will be the latest book of “Chibi Maruko-chan”, the representative work of manga artist Momoko Sakura, who passed away in August 2018.
According to Shueisha, Botan Kohagi, who has worked as an assistant for many years, has adapted Sakura’s original script for the TV anime into a manga. Includes 7 new works, including “Tennyo no Hagoromo Densetsu no Maki”.
“Chibi Maruko-chan” was completed once with the 17th volume released in December 2018, but it was revived for the first time in about four years. Sakura Production said, “We would like to take over Sakura’s last wish, which was gradually starting to draw, wanting to leave the script she wrote as a manga, and to deliver it to everyone in a new form.”
