Cospa Family: 15 years of passion, friendship and cosplay – the “family” that made event history
In every great story, there is a moment when it all starts with a simple, almost spontaneous idea. One night, five people met with a common dream and a desire to achieve something bigger. So, fifteen years ago, cospar familytoday one of the oldest and most recognized realities in the Italian cosplay scene. It was a November night, not too cold, but full of energy and hope. They sit around a table Massimo Barbera, Arianna Baratelli, Fabio Aquilino, Alessandro Stent e Paula R. Winchester. That night they signed the articles of association, which over time would become a true “family” for hundreds of cosplayers and enthusiasts. “I remember every detail,” Massimo Barbera said on social media today. “The chatter, the planning, the sense of freedom and the desire to do our own thing. None of us could have imagined how big that little seed would grow.”
From the first fair to the birth of “family”
In the months since the signing, new faces have been added to the Cospa family: Martina PuglisiWith a passion for photography and video, Alberto Coatti, Aurora Camolioand later Matteo Lovecchio e Martina Marchisio. Each brought his or her talents to a rapidly evolving project, always maintaining the spirit of friendship and collaboration that spawned it.
From the beginning, the Cospa family set themselves a specific goal: Organize events so that role play becomes more than just a competition, but a collective experience. The fair thus becomes a space for gathering, expression and creativity. “As cosplayers ourselves,” explains Arianna Baratelli, “we know what the people on stage really want. We want every event to be enthusiastic, fun and attentive to every detail, because cosplay is first and foremost about sharing.”
This philosophy has guided the association’s activities for more than ten years, during which time it has collaborated with some of the most important events in northern Italy. Anyone who has participated Turin Comics, role play oh Hard Rock CosPride Know what it means to meet the Cospa family behind the scenes: smiles, professionalism, impeccable organization and contagious energy. It is no coincidence that over time they earned the nickname “”.family”, an ironic but affectionate definition that encapsulates the sense of unity that characterizes them.
The world is changing, but passion remains
In fifteen years, the world of fairs and role-playing has fundamentally changed. Events are getting bigger, online communities are changing the way they talk about creation, and new generations are bringing different languages and styles. But the Cospa family has been able to adapt, grow and innovate without losing its identity.
Every event organized by the group is the result of a collective effort that combines competence and dedication: logistics management, presentations, entertainment, relations with institutions, online communication and collection of registrations. Everything is done with the same care a cosplayer prepares for his or her costume, step by step, detail by detail.
Beyond organizational challenges, however, what makes the Cospa family unique is its own Humanistic spirit. It is not just an association but a network of friendships, shared experiences and common passions. Even today, many of the founding members work on parallel projects between theatre, music and art, but remain connected to that little symbol that represents an indelible piece of their lives. Today, the Cospa family looks forward to new projects and collaborations, preparing to face the future of cosplay with the same spirit that has always guided cosplay. The next generation of role players will, as always, find a community of people ready to welcome them with a smile, offer advice and organize activities in which imagination is the protagonist.
