Cosplay -mania, the paradise of disguise at the Giardini di Gorizia

It was 1984. And the Japanese reporter Takahashi Nobuyuki coined the word “Cosplay” to describe fans disguised as the protagonists of the comic and science fiction series he had seen at WorldCon in Los Angeles. Today it indicates a phenomenon, consisting in dressing up as characters from video games, comics, cartoons, films or fantasy literature, to meet on public occasions. And a public occasion, Saturday afternoon, was the “Let’s Go! Cosplay & Fun ”which transformed the public gardens of Gorizia into a paradise of disguise, bodypainting, graffiti and the universe of Marvel superheroes. Video by Pierluigi Bumbaca. THE ARTICLE
