Through the new studio, well-known names would be ported to their various portable gadgets.

* The name in the title may be most familiar to many through the Final Fantasy family, but we recently wrote that the new Lara Croft anime would also be based on this company’s video game. They also seem to have a strong interest in the smartphone and tablet segment, and a new studio has been set up specifically to focus on this in order to fight for better positions.

Not so long ago, we reported the expected arrival of a new mobile address based on the Warhammer 40k franchise, as more and more developers are paying much more attention to the area. The Japanese-based Square Enix has now drawn a similar, officially announced for the creation of a new London-based studio, its launch, which will focus in the future specifically on making games that can be run on portable gadgets and their operating systems. It is planned that the company’s own games, as well as a number of other well-known names, will also appear on offer, although the latter will require the purchase of the appropriate licenses. Square Enix London Mobile will prefer free titles for customers, although we will obviously have the opportunity to spend money within games, as we have become accustomed to in recent years.

Among the first projects is Tomb Raider Reloaded, in which we could solve various mysteries, starting in 2022, as the game will only appear on certain Android and iOS devices next year. Canadian Navigator Games, meanwhile, is working on another game already based on Avatar: The Last Airbender, but its title has not yet been communicated to us. However, there is also talk of porting more complex works such as Final Fantasy VIII Remastered, as they want to get in the best position in the mobile market, although it will obviously take some time to implement the plans.

The exact schedule is not yet known, but it will definitely be worth following the company’s official website to be notified of newcomers in a timely manner.
