Hitman III is positioned as one of the best games of 2021. Although IO Interactive, the developers, are already gearing up to work on a new James Bond game, The adventures of Agent 47 are not over yet, as this installment will have DLC.
In an interview with The Gamer, Forest Swartout Large, the studio’s executive producer, revealed that they are already working on additional content for Hitman III, although details and release dates are still unclear. Here’s what he commented:
“We are continually working on Hitman, so we are already looking to the future.
We’ll definitely be making DLC, but we haven’t defined what they will be. I think as of now we don’t see new cards like bank and island.
We focus more on using existing places and reinventing them, distorting them. And this time we can use the whole trilogy. We can come back to the Hitman 2016 cards, the Hitman 2 cards; we have all the locations ”.
In this way, Hitman III DLC would focus on offering us new contracts, either permanent or for a limited time, across the various maps we’ve seen throughout the most recent trilogy in the series. It’s a shame we don’t have new levels, but with 18 slots already available, there is plenty of room for the developers to experiment.
Since IO Interactive has already recouped the cost of producing Hitman III, the DLC announcement should come as no surprise. It only remains for us to know if this additional content will be free or paid. Likewise, the studio is still working hard on its James Bond game, which could be a trilogy.
