Korea Comics Promotion Agency, 5th Gyeonggi International Cosplay Festival – E-Newspaper

The Korea Comics Promotion Agency is hosting the Gyeonggi International Cosplay Festival (GICOF) online.

You can participate in character costumes such as cartoons, animations, games, and movies, and create short video contents of less than 2 minutes. Video shooting locations must be filmed within a limited living radius, such as inside a house, on a terrace, in a yard, or in a private vehicle, while observing the quarantine rules.

The application period is from August 23 to August 27. Download the application form from the official website of the Bucheon International Comics Festival and submit it via e-mail.

The 10 finalists will be selected from among the submitted works within the period after a jury of experts. Prize money of 2 million won for 1st place, 1 million won for 2nd place, 500,000 won each for 3rd to 5th place, and 300,000 won for 6th to 10th place each.

A low-cost comic concept cosplay photo contest ni.co.dope. will also be held. It is a contest that evaluates creativity and challenging spirit rather than the quality of cosplay, and you can upload a photo of a cosplay challenge in the corner of the room to the Bucheon International Comics Festival Ni.Co.Dope participation bulletin board. Registration for Ni.Co.Dop’s participation is from August 20th to September 5th.

Ni.co.dope. is an abbreviation for ‘Hey, your cosplay is crazy?’. The winner of the Ni.Co.Dope is decided through viewer voting during the Wanana live streaming on YouTube’s ‘All About Korean Manga’ channel during the festival. Ni.Co.Dope winners and outstanding participants will receive generous prizes such as iPad Pros, AirPods Pros, and Gifticon coupons.

Gyeonggi International Cosplay Festival & Bucheon International Comics Festival will be held online for 9 days from the 4th to the 12th of next month. Various non-face-to-face programs such as webtoon OST concert, LAN fan meeting, webtoon showcase, and SNS event will be prepared to present the ‘new normal, new connection’ of the online comics festival.
