Maiori News – Maiori: From March 1, the Grand Carnival lives in the heart in parades, performances and outstanding guests
“Wonder” returns to invade Maiori, which receives the highlights of the 51st edition of Gran Carnevale Maiorese, an appointment that recalls fans and visitors throughout the Amalfi Coast and beyond. After Sunday’s first parade of allegorical fables, the extraordinary work of local masters will be paraded along the promenade from March 2, 4-9, and the finale will end one of the most anticipated events in the area.
On Gran Carnevale Maiorese last Sunday, we realized this miracle – proclaimed art director Alfonso Pastore – we did it with the surprised eyes of the kids who crowded this family village in the morning, but also thanks to the extraordinary performances of the dull masters and the exquisite dance group.
The event plans include a parade of trucks and a series of mortgage plans for young people and the elderly. On March 1, the amphitheater in the port of Maiori will host the “Nostalgia ’90”, a wonderful performance of music, performances, animations and theme scenes. However, on March 8, actress Rosalia Porcaro will rise on the stage of the Carnival Theatre at the Pietra di Luna on March 8, and will provide the public with a huge comedy night on Women’s Day.
This year’s five sheets of paper – Mâché’s work is inspired by the themes of “Wonder”: Super Mario Wonder (The Society of Rio de Janeiro), Frequency of Life (brats), The Dream of Boys (New Pazzi), The Little Prince (ADS) and Abbacadabra (Invisible Picture). To these chariots made by the boys who added Tramonti, which will be in the fashion show.
For suggestive fireworks performances, this will also illuminate the passage of the van. In addition, a photography exhibition dedicated to carnival memories was established along Lungomare Amendola, while the family village of Via Nuova Chiunzi offers playful activities for young children.
“The theme of wonder has prompted us to further improve our event – underlines the mayor Antonio Capone – the enthusiastic participation of the community and the recognition of the great carnival between the historical carnivals of Italy testify to its importance at national level. Thanks to the work of the paper masters and the new generations that are learning this art, we are sure that the Carnival of Maiori will continue to grow in the years to come”.
The program also includes sports and cultural events, including the Youth Football Championship “Maiori Carnival Cup” (March 3-4), the “Le Mascherine” match (March 3), if you know this reply “(March 8) and the performance of the Latin American Balli “Havana Dance” (March 8 at the Port of Maiori).
Similarly, this year, the historical cup assigned to the Carnival champion group is restored and dedicated to the memory of Roberto Di Martino, which will return to the showcase.
