As Crunchyroll has now announced, the streaming provider is now also offering the film “Farewell, My Dear Cramer The Movie – First Touch”.
This strip adapts the story of the “Sayonara Football” prequel manga that accompanies Nozomi in junior high school, and thus represents the background to the current TV series “Farewell, My Dear Cramer”.
All premium users can currently watch the film with German subtitles. After a week, the strip will also be available to members who use Crunchyroll for free.
The film was directed by Seiki Takuno (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) in the LIDEN FILMS studio. Natsuko Takahashi (Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) responsible, while Eriko Itō (Hamatora) the character designs were carried out. The music was composed by Masaru Yokoyama (Fruits Basket). Aika Kobayashi contributed the opening “Sora wa Dare ka no Mono Ja Nai” and was also responsible for the opening of the series.
Manga has been published since 2016
Naoshi Arakawa started the manga series “Farewell, My Dear Cramer” in May 2016 in “Monthly Shonen Magazine” and ended it in January 2021. The series is not yet available in this country.
Arakawa’s previous manga “Your Lie in April” inspired a TV anime with a total of 22 episodes, which is available in Germany from peppermint anime under the name “Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso – Seconds in Moll”. In addition, the manga was the template for a real-life film.
Farewell, My Dear Cramer: First Touch focuses on the history of Nozomi Onda. As a middle school student, she sat on the substitute bench all the time, as her school only has a boys’ soccer club. Nozomi tries hard to convince her coach to let her play in the coming season. She wants to prove to her rival and childhood friend Yasuaki “Namek” Tani that she can play soccer just as well as any other boy.
