Signed an agreement with Gwangju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency to support animation production

The Gwangju Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency (President Yong-Seok Tak) signed an agreement to support content production with four companies selected through an open contest for ‘Main animation production support’ on the 13th.

The ‘mainstream animation production support’ project hosted by Gwangju City and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and operated by the Gwangju Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency is a project that aims to revitalize the local animation industry ecosystem and create sustainable professional jobs.

In this contest, which publicly recruited excellent creative animation contents such as TV series and theater use in the main production stage, 5brix (CEO Se-heon Jo, Jo Seong-yun) TV series 2D animation ‘Maru Commando Tata and Kuma’, Ice Cream Studio (CEO Choi Byeong-sun) OTT (Over The Top) platform-based series ‘The Day I Die’, theatrical animation Maros Studio ‘Woodang Tang Tang Eunha Security Team True Courage’, and Studio W Yubaba (CEO Lee Hong-joo) ‘Mega Racer total 4 works were selected.

Based on a total of 1.44 billion won in content production subsidies, the Promotion Agency plans to focus on producing high-quality animations and enhancing the development capabilities of local companies.

In addition, to support the growth of selected content intellectual property (IP), various tangible and intangible support such as participation in domestic and foreign content markets, investment consulting and pitching, and IP promotion will continue.

Director Tak Yong-seok said, “We will do our best to create tangible results for the promotion of the local cultural industry by discovering and supporting the growth of excellent contents representing Gwangju.”
