The debut trailer and poster for the new anime based on the Rurouni Kenshin manga by Nobuhiro Watsuki have been released. The premiere should take place in 2023.
According to the manga, an anime was previously released, which was broadcast in Russian dubbing under the name @samurai x. The Liden Films studio, which worked on the anime Tokyo Avengers (Tokyo Revengers) and Song of the Night Owls (Yofukashi no uta), is working on the adaptation.
Kenshin will be voiced by Soma Saito, best known for playing William James Moriarty in Moriarty’s Patriotism. Kaoru Kamiya will be voiced by Rie Takahashi, who many know for her role as Megumin from Konosuba. Directed by Hideyo Yamamoto (“Re: Zero – Life from Zero in Another World”).
In the center of the plot is a former mercenary with a dark past, Kenshin Himura. He travels, helping people along the way to atone for the sins of the past. In Tokyo, he meets Kaworu Kamiya, who allows him to stay at her dojo. There he makes new friends, with whom he experiences many adventures.
