La Grande marche sous zero, the first winter event organized by the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie team and presented by the Government of Quebec, in collaboration with the Federation of General Practitioners of Quebec and Rio Tinto, was a huge success.
Pierre Lavoie, seen with his dog Kona, is so proud that 229,041 people, including 80,611 students from 4,191 elementary and secondary bubble classes, took part in the Great Walk Under Zero.
Musical performances were broadcast live throughout the weekend on the event website and the Grand Défi Facebook page. Annie Villeneuve was accompanied by her backing singer, Vicky Martel, and her guitarist, Sébastien Daigle.
As part of the event, the artists, including the group 2Frères, performed in the enchanting setting of the Hôtel de Glace in Quebec City.
The Great Walk Under Zero invited all Quebecers to walk 5 km in their neighborhood or on a trail. During his musical performance, Ludovick Bourgeois was accompanied by his guitarist, Guillaume Doiron.
Josée Lavigueur, a great ambassador of the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, hosted the live programming of La Grande marche sous zero on Saturday.
Tobie Bureau-Huot hosted the Sunday program to accompany the walkers with interviews, animation and musical performances that were broadcast on the event website and the Grand Défi Facebook page.
The Great Walk Under Zero focused, among other things, on entertainment to reach as many participants as possible. Two members of the Bleu Jeans Bleu group offered a magnificent performance live from the Hôtel de Glace.
