‘The whole family’s content went through’… LGU+ Super Pack ‘2 million hours in two months’

The cumulative viewing time of monthly subscription products on Internet TV (IPTV) serviced by LG U+ is gaining popularity, surpassing 2 million hours within two months of its launch.

LG U+ announced on the 21st that the cumulative viewing time of the terrestrial, movie, and kids VOD monthly subscription ‘Super Pack’ on IPTV ‘U+tv’ exceeded 2 million hours in two months after its release. During the same period, the number of new subscribers was 21 times higher than other monthly subscription services.

Super Pack is a product that allows unlimited access to a total of 100,000 content from terrestrial (KBS, MBC, SBS) broadcast video-on-demand (VOD) to movies, overseas series, animation, kids, and adults for a monthly fee of 19,800 won (including VAT). .

LG U+ believes that the concept of ‘a monthly fee for the whole family’ and the atmosphere of social distancing, which can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups with colorful contents, have driven the growth of Super Pack viewing time. Customers showed high usage rates from terrestrial broadcast VOD to theatrical animation and movie content.

In addition, the pattern of mixed viewing of content from different genres such as ‘Penthouse 3’, ‘Fast and Furious: The Seven’, and ‘Minions’ within a single household was remarkable.

The seamless function between IPTV and mobile TV is also considered to be the background of the popularity of Super Pack. An LG U+ official explained, “More than 50% of Super Pack subscribers are watching various monthly subscription content while switching between U+tv and U+mobile TV.”
