World Cosplay Summit (WCS) 2021
If there will be a physical event World Cosplay Summit (WCS), one of the contest cosplay most important worldwide, announced last Friday that it does plan to have events with cosplayers and live attendees this year, as well as online. The event will take place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 August at Oasis 21 in Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture.
This year, cosplay events will return, including photo shoots, spectacular stage events and a video cosplay championship.
The event’s executive committee includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya City, the Nagoya Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Osu Business District Alliance, Aichi Television Broadcasting and WCS.
If there is something that characterizes the WCS, it is its International Representatives Championship which could not be held last year (2020) due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, instead there was only an “online presentation” as in most international nerdy events.
